ST. CHARLES - The funeral for Grace Benedett will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Berea Moravian Church in rural St. Charles with the Rev. Keith Harke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Benedett, 87, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of St. Charles, died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) at Rosewood Estates in Waterloo. Grace Wiskow was born Dec. 21, 1911 in Elba township. On June 25, 1936, she married Walter Benedett in Berea Moravian Church. Mrs. Benedett died May 4, 1999. The couple lived on the farm until 1995, when they moved to St. Charles. In 1997, they moved to Waterloo to live with their son for 11 years before moving to Rosewood Estates. Mrs. Benedett was an active member of Berea Moravian Church, its Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday School and Bible School for a number of years. She is survived by two sons, Arno of Waterloo, and Melvin of St. Charles. Her husband, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Home-St. Charles Chapel, and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday.

ST. CHARLES - The funeral for for Walter Benedett will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Berea Moravian Church north of St. Charles with the Rev. Terry Benedett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Benedett, 93, of St. Charles, a former area farmer, died Tuesday (May 4, 1999) at Rosewood Manor in Waterloo, Iowa, where he had lived since 1997. He was born May 31, 1905, in Hillsdale Township, Winona county. In April 1912 he moved with his family to a farm north of St. Charles, where he lived and farmed until moving to St. Charles in 1995. On June 25, 1936, he married Grace Wiskow at Berea Moravian Church, he served as janitor, trustee and elder. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Arno of Waterloo and Melvin of Elba; and a brother, Carl of St. Charles. Two brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's St. Charles Chapel and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Rachel L. Wiskow Beseke, 97, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, Dec, 20, 2013, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Rachel was born to Ben and Meta (Engelbart) Smith on July 18, 1916, in St. Charles. She attended St. Charles High School. On Aug. 3, 1931, she married Everett Wiskow. Everett passed away in 1985 after 53 years of marriage. In 1986, she married Richard Beseke, a longtime friend. They were married for 10 years. Over the years, Rachel enjoyed her family, jeeping, crocheting, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and in her retirement years, spent many hours scouting ditches for aluminum cans on her three-wheeler. Rachel and Everett owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station in St. Charles in the late 1940s. Rachel was a full-time service attendant. Later, adjacent to the filling station, they opened the first root beer stand in the area. Rachel then worked for Bell Telephone Company for several years, and in the 1970s, she worked as a dental assistant at the St. Charles Dental Office. She ended her employment with 10 years working for Whitewater State Park. Loving family members include, three children, Carol (Stan) Braun, Patti (Don) Zingler and Irv (Elayne) Wiskow all of St. Charles; eight grandchildren, Bruce (Margaret) Braun, Jeri Schoonover, Becky (Jeff) Bailey, Brent (Janelle) Zingler, Dena Zingler, Jill (Dan) Christie, Mylee (Bob) Puetz and Bryce (Paula) Wiskow; 22 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wilson-Hadland, Black River Falls, Wis.; and a brother Irving Smith, St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her husbands, and a brother, Merril Smith. The funeral service and celebration of the life of Rachel Beseke will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, 555 East 12th Street in St. Charles, with the Rev. Samuel Morsching officiating. Visitation will be at Hoff Funeral Home today, Dec. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and also for one hour prior to the church service. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.

Geraldine Ann "Gerry" Slavin, 80, of St. Charles, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at her home. Gerry was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Winona, to Gene and Bonnie Miller. She and Lester Wiskow were married Sept. 21, 1956. They made their home in St. Charles. Les died June 18, 1979. She and Ralph "Bud" Slavin were married in Las Vegas, in February 1981. He died 1998. Gerry worked for Home Produce of St. Charles. She worked for Camera Art in Lewiston for 23 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, especially "thrillers" and "mysteries," and going out for dinner with her girlfriends. Gerry and Bud enjoyed traveling to the south in their motor home. She loved and missed her wiener dogs, Sparky and Bonnie. Surivors include a daughter, Kathy Wiskow and her son, Chad Wiskow of Rochester, a son, Mike Wiskow of Rochester; nine step-children, Maggie and Roger Peterson of Dover, Bob and Nora Slavin of Rollingstone, John and Sherrie Slavin, Mary Jo and Dan Schweitzer, Tom and Deb Slavin, and Carol and David Packer of Kellogg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Jan and Shirley Olson; and close friends Arlene and Jim Braun. She was preceded in death by her two husbands and a daughter, Patti. Services to celebrate Gerry's life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Hoff Funeral Home and Cremation Service of St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant Jenny Hoff. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services. Coffee and cookies will be served following services. Burial of Gerry's cremated body will be in Hillside Cemetery in the spring.

ST. CHARLES - The funeral for Brian W Wiskow will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Charles. Mr. Wiskow, 52, of St. Charles, died Monday (June 2, 2008) in the emergency room of Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born Jan. 8, 1956, in Winona. He had lived in St. Charles his entire life, graduating from St. Charles High School in 1975. On April 11, 1987, he married Deb Bougie in St. Charles. Mr. Wiskow was a carpenter and worked for several construction companies. He was currently working for D & H Exteriors of Plainview. He liked NASCAR racing and was a Richard Petty fan. He also enjoyed genealogy, Civil War history, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; two children, James and Laura, both at home; a sister, Estella (Dick) Waby of Crosby, Minn., and three brothers, Don (Mary Lou) of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., Lee (Charlotte) of Rochester and Wayne of Trenton, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Louise (Littlefield) Wiskow. Mrs. August P. Wiskow, 57, died Sunday at Winona General Hospital after an illness of four years. She was the former Cora Woodward, born at Spring Valley, Minn, May 29, 1904. Mrs. Wiskow had lived in Minneapolis and for the past 12 years in St. Charles. Surviving are her husband; two stepsons, Lester, St. Charles, and Bernard, Caaa Grande, Ariz,; a brother, Arthur, Zumbrota, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Splies, Bethany Moravian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. August Wiskow, 28, died at the Winona General Hospital Friday at 2:15 p.m a stillborn son was born to Mrs. Wiskow three weeks ago. Mrs. Wiskow, who resided on the farm of her husband's father, William Wiskow, north of here, was formerly Miss Edna Gehrke, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Gehrke. She was born July 18, 1912, five miles southwest of here in Olmsted county, and was married to Mr. Wiskow May 8, 1932 at the Berea Moravian parsonage near here. She had always lived in this vicinity. Survivors are her husband; two sons, Lester, seven, and Bernard, three; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Coe, Chatfield; Mrs. William Wandrow, Utica; Mrs. Rose Raumbaum, Winona; and Mrs. John Miekla, St. Charles, and three brothers, Arthur, Spring Valley, and Harry and Walter, St. Charles. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the berea Moravian church, the Rev. John Ingles officiating. Preliminary serices will be conducted at the O.W. Rendernick funeral home at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

ST. CHARLES - The funeral for Emmanuel J. Wiskow will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Berea Moravian Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Keith Harke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Wiskow, 87, of St. Charles, died Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2001) at Whitewater Health Care Center in St. Charles. He was born June 30, 1914, in Elba. On March 27, 1940, he married Wanda Richardson. She died Nov. 1, 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World WAr II. On June 29, 1943, he married Mary Schoaf in Owatonna. She died Nov. 5, 1993. He was a member of the St. Charles VFW. He enjoyed carpentry, bingo, traveling, fishing, baking cookies and pickling fish. He is survived by four sons, Daniel of Sumner, Wash., Roger (Carol) and Kendall (Karen), both of St. Charles, and Kim of Eyota; three daughters, Sandy Wiebusch of Rochester, Debra (Ron) Bemmert of St. Charles and Sheila (Roger) Freerksen of Dodge Center; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Wiskow of St. Charles. ELBA - Everett M. Wiskow, 77, of Elba, a retired quarry employee and self-employed automobile mechanic, died of a heart attack Thursday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Mr. Wiskow was born Aug 7, 1907 in Elba Township, Winona county, and married RAchael Smith on Aug. 3, 1931, at Wiona. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic, and for the 10 years prior to retiring worked at Patterson Quarries in St. Charles. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Carol) Braun and Mrs. Daniel (Pati) Zingler, both of St. Charles, a son, Irving of St. Charles; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman and emmanuel, both of St. Charles; and five sisters, Mrs. Viola Witt of Wilton, Wis., Annie Ringler of Staples, Minn., and Alma Stevens, Ruby Wiskow, and Mrs. Walter (Grace) Benedett, all of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. The funeral is 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Dabvid Taylor officiating. Francis E. Wiskow, 21, was killed in an automobile accident Sunday near Blair, Neb. Wiskow, son of Harvey Wiskow, St. Charles, was riding with two other men. One is dead and the other hospitalized with slight injuries. Driver of the car was Marvin Fellows, 22, hospitalized. Fellows said that as he approached a curve he met another car which was driving over the center line. Fellows turned right to avoid hitting the car and sideswiped a bridge abutment. Also killed was Hardin K. Hodne, 22, Karlslad, Minn. All three men were stationed at Lincoln Air Force Base. Wiskow was born May 30, 1937. He attended St. Charles High School and left for service March 23, 1955. Home on a weekend pass a month ago, he was to have been discharged Jan. 23, 1959. Working in electronics, he was stationed twice at New Foundland and planned to attend school to study electronics after his discharge. Surviving are his father and a brother, Merle, St. Charles. Funeral services are tentatively set for Thursday. They will be at the Congregational church here, the Rev. George McNary officiating.

Funeral services for A.2.C. Earl Wiskow, 21, who died Sunday of injuries received in an automobile accident at Blair, Neb., will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Congregational church, the Rev. George McNary officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Airman Wiskow was born here May 30, 1937. He attended St. Charles High School and enlisted in the Air Force in March 1955. He was stationed at the air base near Lincoln, Neb., and was engaged to Miss Emily Mueller of Elba. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wiskow; a brother, Merle, St. Charles; his paternal grandparents and several nieces and nephews. His mother died in 1951. Friends may call at Jacobs Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday and at the church from noon Friday until time of services. Pallbearers, all cousins, will be Lester, Bernard, Donald and Leland Wiskow, Edward Stevens, and Arnold Bennedett. The St. Charles American Legion firing squad will conduct graveside rites.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Mrs. Wiskow, 69, of St. Charles, a longtime secretary and bookkeeper, died Monday morning (Sept. 22, 1997) at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Genevieve Robinson was born July 27, 1928, in Racine Township, Mower County. On Nov. 12, 1948, she married Merle Wiskow in Rochester and they lived in Rochester until moving to the Wiskow family farm near St. Charles in 1952. She was a secretary-bookkeeper for the St. Charles Condensing Co., City of St. Charles, and for 25 years was secretary-treasurer for the Dover-Eyota-St. Charles Area Sanitary District. Mrs. Wiskow was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rochester and a former member of the St. Charles Jaycees. Survivors include her husband: two daughters, Gloria Gifford of Rochester and Wendy (Mrs. Elwood) Porter of Sun Prairie, Wis.; a son, Chris of Dayton, Minn.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nathan Robinson of Longview, Texas, and Allan Robinson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and five sisters, Margaret Pittman of Salt Lake City, Pauline Scott of St. Charles, Evelyn Gan of Portland, Ore., Barbara Sisson of Rochester and Ramona Vaughn of Silverton, Ore. ST. CHARLES - Gerhard Wiskow, 73, of St. Charles, a long-time owner and operator of a produce business here, died at his home Wednesday of complications of Parkinson's disease. Mr. Wiskow was born Feb. 13, 1912, in rural St. Charles. He married Meta Horn on Sept. 1, 1938 in Decorah, Iowa and the couple lived in St. Charles where Mr. Wiskow was a mechanic and also ran a produce business. He retired in 1973 due to ill health. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Arlo (Judy) Wold of St. Charles; two grandsons, and three brothers, Raymond of St. Charles, Marvin of Chatfield and Kermit of La Pine, Ore. A brother preceded him in death. Mr. Wiskow was a member of Berea Moravian Church where the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Frank Jones officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. ST. CHARLES - Louise L. Wiskow, 79, of St. Charles, a longtime area resident, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 10, 1995) at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Louise L. Littlefield was born May 16, 1916, in rural Utica. On June 2, 1933, she married Norman Wiskow in Winona and they lived in the St. Charles area most of their married lives. Mrs. Wiskow was a member and longtime recorder of the Royal Neighbors of America and a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Charles. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Stella (Mrs. Dick) Waby of Crosby, Minn.; four sons, Donald of St. Paul, Leland of Rochester, Wayne of Moline, Ill., and Brian of St. Charles. A brother preceded her in death. The funeral wil be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Mrs. Harvey Wiskow, 50, died at 12 p.m. at her home here Sunday after a brief illness. The former Lula Louise Ringler, she was born March 21, 1901, at Lake Park, Iowa, the daughter of mr. and Mrs. William Ringler. Married September 15, 1926, at Staples, Minn., the Wiskows lived for one year at Altura and for two years at Elba before moving to St. Charles, where they have farmed continuously since. Mrs. Wiskow was a member of the Sunshine Rebecca lodge and of the Congregational church. She was a past president of the St. Charles Woman's Relief corps. Surviving are her husband; tow sons, Merle, Rochester, and Francis, St. Charles; three sisters, Mrs. Ben Sass, Canby, Minn.; Mrs. William Prahm, Chicago, and Mrs. Ren Sell, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; six brothers, Jacob, St. Charles; Albert, Mora, Minn.; Louis, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Frank, MOdesto, Calif.; Leo, Motley, Minn., and Ernest, Staples, Minn., and one step-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational church with burial in Hillside cemetery, the Rev. George McNary officiating. Mrs. William Wiskow, 84, died at 4 a.m., Saturday at her home here. She had been in ill health two years. The former Magdalena Sell, she was born at Elba, Dec 8, 1877, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sell. She was married at Berea Moravian Church, rural St. Charles, Oct. 4, 1900. Her husband died last December. Survivors are: Five sons, Harvey, Winona, and August, Everett, Norman and Emanuel, St. Charles; six daughters, Mrs. Fred Witt, Ontario, Wis,; Mrs. Charles Stevens and Mrs. Walter Benedett, St. Charles; Misses Pearl and Ruby Wiskow, Rochester, and Mrs. Leo Ringler, Motley, Minn; 36 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben, St. Charles, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Emma) Wiskow, and Mrs. Adella Malon, St. Charles. Six brothers and three sisters have died.

The funeral for Marvin K. Wiskow will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Berea Moravian Church north of St. Charles with the Rev. John Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Wiskow, 81, of Chatfield, died Saturday (Sept. 5, 1998) at his home. He was born May 24, 1917 in St. Charles. He  graduated from St. Charles HIgh School in 1936 and from Lee's Barber School of St. Paul in 1938. He started a barber shop in Dover in 1940 and on June 18 of that year, he married Irma Schafer at the Berea Moravian Church. He worked as a barber and started farming east of Eyota in fall 1945. In fall 1959, he bought a farm in Saratoga Township. In 1977, he moved his barber shop from Dover to St. Charles. Mr. Wiskow retired in 1981, but cut hair fro the residents of Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles and Chosen Valley Care Center of Chatfield. Irma died 3 Feb 1982. Mr. Wiskow married Faye Rain on Sept 4, 1982. Mr. Wiskow served on the Winona County ASCS, the Saratoga Township board, and the Sparta Egg Cooperative of Sparta, Wis. He was trustee and elder of the Berea Moravian Church, served for 12 years on the Winona County Fair Board and was honored with the "Marvin Wiskow Day" in 1989. He served on the Camp Winnebago Board of Caledonia, the Eyota School Board in the 1950s and was past president of the Chatfield Lions Club. In 1965, he was named Minnesota Conservationist of the Year for his habitat work on Trout Run. He was also a member of the Whitewater Valley Sportsman Club and the Chatfield Saddle Club. Survivors include his wife Faye, of Chatfield; three sons, Darryl of Pine Island, Kenneth of Rochester, and Clayton of St. Charles; one daughter, Ramona Byrne of Chanhassen, Minn; one step-daughter Karla Becker of Chatfield; a step-son, Scott Rain of Chatfield; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a brother, Kermit of Bend, Ore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma; a son and three brothers. Mrs. Wiskow, 68, of St. Charles, a retired employee of Camera Art in Lewiston, died Friday (Nov. 5, 1993) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Mary M. Schoaf was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Owatonna, and married Emmanuel Wiskow on June 29, 1943. After her husband's discharge from the military service, they farmed in rural St. Charles until 1975 when they retired from farming and moved into town. Mrs. Wiskow worked for Camera Art for 17 years before her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Berea Moravian Church and its ladies aid, a membger and a past president of the St. Charles VFW Auxilliary, and past president and 50-year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Dan of Circle Pines, Minn.; Roger and Kendall, both of St. Charles, and Kim of Rochester; three daughters, Sandra Wiebusch of Rochester, Debra (Mrs. Ronald) Bemmert of St. Charles and Sheila (Mrs. Roger) Freerksen of Dodge Center; 23 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Leo Schoaf of Owatonna. Merle Ernest Wiskow, 82, life-long resident of St. Charles, MN passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, July 16th of complications due to illness. Merle was born on June 14, 1930 to Harvey Albert and Lula Elizabeth (Ringler) Wiskow. Merle graduated from St. Charles High School in 1948 where he excelled in football. Merle married Genevieve "Jean" Robinson at the United Methodist Church in Rochester, MN on November 12, 1948; they lived in St. Charles and raised three children. Merle and Jean had been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sice 1949. They were also memebers of the St. Charles Jaycees and the Whitewater Saddle Club. Merle farmed and delivered milk for the St. Charles Dairy until the early 1960s when he became an educated draftsman and worked for Waters Conley, in Rochester, then as a locksmith and maintenanace worker at the Rochester Methodist Hospital from 1975 until he retired. Merle married Paulete LeRae Conner on November 4, 2006 in St. Paul. Merle was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve, who died on September 22, 1997, his parents, Harvey and Lula Wiskow, brother, Francis Earl, and grandson, Ryan Christopher Porter. He is survived by his wife Paulette, children: Gloria Jean Gifford of Rochester, MN, Wendy Louise (Elwood) Porter of Madison, WI, and Christopher Robin (Susan Kahle) Wiskow of Rogers, MN; grandchildren: Grant (Denise) Gifford, Clint (Angie) Gifford, Autumn (Brent) Mayberry, Amber (Mark) Orton, Lark Porter, Cole Wiskow;great-grandchildren: Trevor, Jordyn, Keyara, and Payton Gifford, Ryanne Baker, and Henry and Miles Mayberry; great-great-grandchildren: Oliver Hanson. he is also survived by step-children Cytel (Scott) Schults, Amanda (Jackie) Benevides, Sheldon Connor, Terra (Travis) Richardson, Jasmine Conner, and austin (Lashina) Conner. Surviving step-grandchildren include Kolby, Jameson, and Bradlee Schults, Pheonix Benevides, Briana and Tyler Richardson and Ricky Conner. ST. CHARLES - The funeral for Meta L. Wiskow will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Wiskow, 93, died Saturday (Dec. 23, 2006) at Whitewater Health Center in St. Charles. She was born Meta Horn Aug. 4, 1913, in rural Lewiston. She married Gerhart Wiskow on Sept. 1, 1938, in Decorah, Iowa. He preceded her in death. They owned and operated Wiskow Produce in St. Charles for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles. She enjoyed quilting, visiting friends and loving her grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Judy (Arlo) Wold of St. Charles; two grandsons, Greg (Beng) of Dodge Center and Aric of St. Charles. ST. CHARLES - The funeral for Norman K. Wiskow will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. Mr. Wiskow, 86, of St. Charles, a retired carpenter, died Tuesday (March 25, 1997) at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles where he had resided since November 1995. He was born June 19, 1910, in Elba township, Winona county.  On June 2, 1933, he married Louise Littlefield in Winona. They lived in Winona while he worked on construction of the Whitman Dam and after that they lived in St. Charles for a short time before moving to Nevada where he was a roofer. In 1950 they returned to the St. Charles area and farmed, and later moved into St. Charles. Mr. Wiskow was a carpenter for 25 years and built many homes. His wife died Oct. 10, 1995. He was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church and Elba Sportsman Club. Survivors include four sons, Donald of St. Paul, Leland of Rochester, Wayne of Moline, Ill., and Brian of St. Charles; a daughter, Stella (Mrs. Dick) Waby of Crosby, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Emmanuel of St. Charles; and two sisters, Grace (Mrs. Walter) Benedett and Ruby Wiskow, both of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. ST. CHARLES - Pearl H. Wiskow, 58, a lifetime resident of this area, died Thursday during open heart surgery at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Miss Wiskow was employed as a sales clerk at Donladson's department store in Rochester for many years. She was born July 14, 1913 in Elba Township, Winona county. She was a member of Berea Moravian Church in rural St. Charles and the women's fellowship club of the church. She never married. She worked at Home Produce in St. Charles for several years, then worked as a nurses aid at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester until retiring. She enjoyed making crafts and traveled to area shows to sell her crafts. In 1970 she traveled to Germany to visit her son, Gerald (Kathy) Wiskow of Port Washington, Wis.; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Emmanuel J Wiskow, 19, died at St. Mary's hospital at Rochester Friday at 3:30 p.m. following a stillbirth. She was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning. Mrs. Wiskow, the former Wanda Richardson, was born July 23, 1921, at Reedsburg, Wis., and was married March 27, 1940 at Eyota. Mr. and Mrs. Wiskow lived near Dover until a month ago when they moved to a farm four miles south of St. Charles. Besides her husband, Mrs. Wiskow is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Richardson of Eyota; four brothers, Floyd of Ft. Knox, Ky., Robert and Wallace of Eyota and Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and three sisters, Betty of Eyota, Mrs. Melba Fender of Norwalk, Wis., and Mrs. Josie Matteson of Hastings, Minn. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Berea Moravian church north of St. Charles by the pastor, the Rev, John Engel. William Wiskow, 86, St. Charles, died Monday at 2:50 p.m. at Winona General Hospital after an illness of four months.
